After spending your time working and being productive, maybe with the help of productivity services, it’s finally time to sit back and relax. If you want to catch up or discover new shows and movies, then this list may be for you.
YouTube Premium
Starting with the most popular streaming service, YouTube is home to a lot of videos from different content creators worldwide. Since almost everyone already knows what YouTube is, I won’t be going over the free service that almost everyone uses. It has a premium service that allows users to watch videos without ads, download videos to watch offline, and play videos even while using other apps or with the screen off. It also includes a subscription to YouTube Music, YouTube Kids, and Google Play Music, which unfortunately is not available in the Philippines. Here are the prices of each plan:
- Individual Plan – PHP 159/month
- Family Plan (up to 6 users) – PHP 239/month
- Student Plan – PHP 95/month
Netflix
If you want to watch shows like The Witcher, Peaky Blinders, and comedy specials, then a Netflix subscription would be worth it. There are also tons of other shows that aren’t Netflix originals on the platform, so you’d never run out of things to watch. You can also download movies and shows so you can watch them on the go.
They have three plans available: Basic, Standard, and Premium. All three plans allow users to watch unlimited movies and shows on any compatible device. You can also cancel any time and avail your first month for free. The Basic Plan allows users to watch videos on SD resolution on one screen at a time. The Standard Plan allows users to watch HD videos on two screens at the same time. And lastly, the Premium plan allows users to watch UHD videos on four screens at the same time. The price of each plan are as follows:
- Basic Plan – PHP 370/month
- Standard Plan – PHP 460/month
- Premium Plan – PHP 550/month

HOOQ
Unlike other video streaming platforms, HOOQ offers its users free movies to watch, and an option to pay for a premium subscription to grant you unlimited access to movies and shows on their platform. There are also blockbuster Hollywood movies that you can rent out for a one time fee. Once rented, you have 30 days to watch the film, and it expires 48 hours after you hit play. Rented movies are restricted to one device at a time. HOOQ’s plans are available via Globe, Smart, GCash, Mastercard, and Visa. Prices of their plans are as follows:
- Individual Movie Rental ticket – PHP 180
- One Day Pass – PHP 15/day
- One Week Pass – PHP 59/week
- Monthly VIP Subscription – PHP 149/month, one free rental ticket per month
- One Year Subscription – PHP 894/year, one free rental ticket per month

iFlix
iFlix is a video streaming service that has shows and movies from Asian countries, including the Philippines and Korea. There are popular Western shows as well, such as Mr. Robot, The Good Place, and more. There are content on iFlix that you can watch for free, and paying for the premium unlocks all content on the platform. Premium users can also stream on two devices at the same time, and download up to 10 videos for offline viewing.
iFlix is offering a daily, weekly, and monthly plan to the Philippine market, and is priced as follows:
- Daily plan PHP 10/day
- Weekly Plan PHP 50/week
- Monthly Plan PHP 129/month

iWant
iWant (previously called iWant TV) is a streaming platform created for people who wants to catch up on ABS-CBN movies and shows on their mobile devices and computer. Its library includes all current ABS-CBN teleseryes, latest ten episodes of news and current affairs programs, variety shows and talk shows, all episodes of select ABS-CBN shows in the past, as well as movies and selected specials.
iWant has a free Basic plan and a Premium plan. The Basic plan allows users limited access to all movies and TV libraries as well as full access to the music library. The Premium plan grants users access to ad-free streaming, unlimited access to all premium movies, TV libraries, music content, and same-day premier and earlier movie releases. The premium plan costs PHP 120/month.

HBO Go
If you’ve itching to watch HBO movies and shows, then HBO Go is the service you should subscribe to. While there is no free service offered, the premium plan allows users to watch all series and movies on the platform such as Game of Thrones, Silicon Valley, and Westworld on demand. Premium users may also download videos to watch on the go, cast from their mobile device to TVs, and watch HBO Originals at the same time as the US.
The HBO Go Premium Plan Costs PHP 149 a month via the Google Play Store, or as low as PHP 99 with select Sky subscriptions.

FOX+
Have you always wanted to catch up on the Walking Dead, or rewatch movies like Deadpool, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Bohemian Rhapsody, and Tomb Raider? Maybe you’d like to watch live sports events, WWE Raw, or National Geographic Documentaries? If so, then FOX+ may be the streaming service for you. FOX+ is compatible with all devices, allows downloads for offline viewing, and same-day streaming for new episodes of their exclusive titles.
They have partnered with Globe to bring their Globe At Home users free six months subscription, with a monthly recurring fee of PHP 249 once the free subscription has ended. Postpaid and Prepaid Globe users can also get FOX+ for PHP 249 by texting FOXPLUS249 to 8080.

Amazon Prime Video
Amazon’s video-on-demand streaming service, Amazon Prime Video, is also available in the country. It hosts a lot of Amazon Originals such as The Grand Tour from Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and Carnival Row. There are also shows and movies from other networks like Mr. Robot, Aladdin, and Bumblebee.
Globe is offering its postpaid plan users 6 months free access by texting “APV” to 8080. A confirmation message would then be sent to them with a link to activate their account. They would then have to pay PHP 150/month for the next succeeding 6 months. After that, users will then have to pay the full price of PHP 300/month.
Amazon Prime Video is compatible with any web browser, mobile devices running Android and iOS, as well as Fire tablets.
Viu
If Korean dramas are more your thing, then Viu might be the service for you. Viu is a digital platform that hosts content from Korea, Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, China, and Taiwan with English subtitles for your convenience. Viu is offering a free and premium service. Free users are restricted to downloading only one video at a time, are subject to up to 5 ads per episode, access episodes telecasted 72 hours prior, and a resolution of 480p. Getting the premium service, however, entitles users to unlimited downloads, ad-free viewing, access to shows telecasted 8 hours prior, seamless casting from mobile to TV, access to dramas, variety & movies, and Full HD resolution.
Viu is offering a 14-day free trial period. After, you’ll have to pay PHP 129 per month (via credit card) to continue enjoying the premium service. Viu also has partnerships with Lazada, Shopee, and Globe, which offer discounted prices. Globe prepaid users can enjoy Viu’s premium service for only PHP 99 per month. Over at Lazada, shoppers can purchase Viu premium memberships for 3 months and 12 months at a time, which costs PHP 216 and PHP 693, respectively. Shoppers over at Shopee can also get premium memberships for 3, 6, and 12 months for PHP 270, PHP 520, and PHP 990, respectively.

NBA League Pass
If you’re a basketball fan and want to watch the games, then NBA League Pass is your top choice. They offer three plans which you can choose to pay monthly or annually at a discounted price. There’s also a week pass and a day pass if you want to watch a particular game. The 3-Game Choice plan allows you to watch up to 3 games a month. The Team Choice plan allows you to watch your favorite team all season, while the League Pass allows you to watch any game from all teams, including the All-Star Weekend. League Pass subscribers are also entitled to NBA TV with 7-day archives. All three plans also allow users to download games for offline viewing. Prices are as follows:
- Day Pass – PHP 100, 24 hours access to live and on-demand games
- Weekly League Pass – PHP 210
- Monthly 3-Game Choice Pass – PHP 100/month
- Monthly Team Choice Pass – PHP 260/month
- Monthly League Pass – PHP 570/month
- Annual 3-Game Choice Pass – PHP 520/year
- Annual Team Choice Pass – PHP 1,300/year
- Annual League Pass – PHP 2,300/year
All passes (except for the Day Pass) also gives you a free 7-day trial period. You can watch games through the official NBA app available on both Android and iOS.
Viddsee
Lastly, we have Viddsee, a platform that hosts short movies and series. They have a curated list of genres and topics to help you narrow down the movies you watch. The service is free, with an option to donate to the platform via Patron to help them create Viddsee Originals.
