Instagram has just released Threads, a standalone messaging app. A camera app for close friends
Threads by Instagram is designed for users to share images, videos, messages, stories, and the like only with the user’s Close Friends list. Threads directly opens to the camera app, with the user’s Close Friends displayed on the bottom part. Photos, videos, and more can be sent by tapping on the friend’s profile picture.
The app also features a dedicated inbox for Close Friends that appears both on Threads and Instagram. There’s also an optional Status feature that lets users share what they’re currently up to with the use of suggested status or a custom one.
