Most business today would say, let’s go digital, let’s go online it’s the future of the company. It’s easy to say but really it takes a lot of understanding before implementing a proper digital implementation. I’ve heard some businesses would say let’s look at the CRM and analytics, well in fact they haven’t gathered enough data yet to look at the analytics. Proper digital implementation takes stages before you reach a digital maturity, first you need to examine how mature is your business in terms of digital.

Small business would start building their online presence through Facebook, which is correct BUT not limited to it. You cannot expect to create a Facebook page and expect people to like the page naturally. When you see fan pages with thousands and millions of likes it takes a lot of good content from their end and a lot of build up before they were able to reach that number.

Traditional companies would rely on traditional marketing like TV, print, radio and others while new businesses would rely on online marketing, Facebook, google ads, blog posts and others, but which one should we use? The correct answer is both! TV, print and others would still make it’s magic through building awareness since these mediums create a lot of eyeballs. Digital on the other hand works best on close combat, when the customer has already showed interest and start engaging with the brand.
