You’ve probably heard of Uber and GrabTaxi in the news, especially with GrabTaxi now being credited by LTFRB.

GrabCar Standard Rate:

I have tried booking same grabcar and uber at the same time and location, GrabCar is usually more expensive by 20-30%.
The thing with GrabCar is it automatically gives you a fix rate regardless of the duration and traffic during the trip. However you would later on realize that there are actually peak prices for Grab which does not show you. Try to book Grab on noon time vs book on a peak hour, with the same pickup and destination point.
With Uber it’s fair and square, it shows you how much surge there is during your booking.
Riders and Drivers
The riders of GrabCar are also different from Uber, more professionals prefer uber because of it’s convenience in payments. I have also encountered Grabcar wearing shorts and torn jeans, which never happens in more than 50+ rides I had with uber.
Uber drivers always greets me “good morning” everytime I enter the car. I have tried Grab for about 5x already just because of their promo, and not one did greet me, it feels like riding a taxi.
Mobile App
One of the things I hate about Grabtaxi is their design. It’s should be simple, I should be able to book a ride to my destination. With Grabtaxi you still need to search for your location and make sure the registered establishment is accurate with the pin. The most irritating thing is you already need to set your destination. Riding a transport service should be flexible, there would most likely be a chance where you would want to change destinations for whatever resason.
Driver incentives
I have been reading the driver incentives and Grabtaxi offers a better incentives for drivers as of writing. If I am not mistaken it give higher incentives compared to uber in about 20-30%.
