Here’s another first on digital payment solutions. Smart today announced “Pay-With-Mobile” service that allows Smart subscribers to purchase paid contents and apps in App Store and iTunes without the use of a credit card. Now, you can pay for apps, games, books, magazines, music and movies on your Apple devices using only your prepaid load or charging the purchase on top of your monthly postpaid bill.
Smart’s “Pay-With-Mobile” service will begin to roll out on February 16, with full availability by February 18. Here’s how you can register for the service:
1) Register your mobile number.
Text REG to 4949.
You will receive a “Virtual Credit Card Number”*
via SMS to use on iTunes and the App Store”
Take note of your Card Number, Security Code
and Expiration Date details

This does not grant the user an actual credit card. The number is only valid for use in iTunes Store
2) Enroll “Virtual Credit Card” details on iTunes
Go to the Apple ID Account Page (Settings> iTunes & App Store)
Tap your Apple ID and click on “View Apple ID”
Select “Payment Information”
Select “MasterCard”
Enter Card Number, Security Code & Expiration Date
Enter any Philippine address.
Press “Done.”
Tap your Apple ID and click on “View Apple ID”
Select “Payment Information”
Select “MasterCard”
Enter Card Number, Security Code & Expiration Date
Enter any Philippine address.
Press “Done.”
3) Now, you’re ready to purchase apps, games, music, movies and in-app items from iTunes and App Store
Subscribers will receive an SMS confirming their purchase with their Smart account. A 15% premium will be charged on top of the published App Store and iTunes rates to account for VAT (value-added tax) and foreign exchange rate difference in dollars.
Sun Cellular will also be offering the service to its subscribers soon.
