5. Microsoft Surface
Perhaps the most polarizing tech gadget of 2012 (primarily due to opinions of Windows RT and Windows 8 Pro) is Microsoft’s Surface tablet. There seems to be no in-the-middle with how people feel about Surface: they either love it or they hate it, and it mostly has everything to do with the operating system running on Surface.

4. Nexus 7
The Nexus 7 tablet, an Android-powered tablet offered by Google, is one of the more recent additions to the ever-growing abundance of tablets on the market. It’s been one of the more budget friendly tablets from Google. So far, it has been quite well-received, with reviewers speaking highly of the tablet after putting it through its paces — including how well it runs Android.

Released in mid-2012, the Galaxy S3 took things to the next level for Samsung’s smartphone offerings, and to this day, it remains one of the best high-end phones on the market. This is probably one of Samsung’s best mobile device yet. The specs and features is just superb, the only true contender for the iPhone.

2. iPhone 5
I can say that iPhone 5 was what everybody expected. There is not much of an upgrade aside from the bigger screen and faster processor. But despite that Apple surely was able to pull this off to compete head on with Samsung Galaxy S3.

1. iPad Mini
This would be my gadget of the year! Smaller screen and definitely lighter! The 2 inch difference with the regular iPad just fits perfect in your hands. Specs is roughly the same with iPad 4 but I consider this a more practical tablet especially if you bring your tablet all the time. I just wished though that they made this retina display, but aside from that this is a perfect tablet!
