Just a few days ago(Sept.5) Apple started sending out invites for today’s event. It has been one of the most awaited announcement for the tech industry, Samsung released the S3 and Note, but today’s event would probably be the biggest announcement of the year.

There were many speculations of when and what will be launched today, from iPad mini, new iPod, iPhone 5 and others. Can you still remember the very first iPhone back in 2007? Steve Jobs said it was a mobile phone that is 5 years advance of it’s time. Looking back 2007 it maybe 5 years advance, it was not untill 2011 that Android started catching up with iPhone.

Anyway let’s stop talking about the rumors and the past, it’s finally here!

Well firstly all I can say is that the actual iPhone 5 looks pretty accurate from the leaked photos, which is strange especially when Tim Cook mentioned that they are doubling their “secrecy”.

  • A6 Chip (2x Faster than the A5 Chip)
  • 4-inch Retina Display, 1136 x 640 pixels (~326 PPI)
  • 20% Lighter and 18% Thinner compared to the iPhone 4
  • 2G, EDGE, 3G, HSPA+, LTE
  • 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, 3264×2448, dynamic low light mode, panorama 5-element lens, f2.4 aperture
  • Records 1080p, take photos while shooting videos
  • Front-facing FaceTime HD camera with 720p support
  • New Connector called Lightning
  • Facetime over 3G
  • iOS 6
  • Better Speakers

Interesting new earphones and dock for iPhone5.

I don’t think there were any mentions of NFC during the event. Well yes people won’t need NFC yet but it may become more streamline before they launch the next iPhone. There was no feature that really blew me away, the features and specs were all as what everyone expected.

Comparing it to iPhone 4s, this is how it looks like

The bigger screen could be a game changer for iPhone users, it does really come in handy having a bigger screen. Hardware specs were as expected, probably at this time  we are still limited with the available hardware. iOS 6 is something to look forward, it would be interesting how it would run on the iPhone 5.

So now that you’ve read all you need to know about iPhone 5 are you getting one?

Looks like they're running out of ideas. That or Tim Cook just isn't fit for continuing Steve Jobs' legacy

Face it. Steve Jobs is dead and Apple will never be the same. So what they are doing is to file lawsuits right and left to their competitors claiming this and that so that they can still survive in the market. This release of the iPhone is even inferior to S3.

If this continuous, i will give iPhone 2 years then majority of it's patrons will be shifting to Android smartphones. Who knows, Nokia might play sneaky too, and we can just never count out Blackberry just yet.

I'm curious about its Bluetooth 4.0. If it works just the same as its ancestors (sharing w/in i to i devices only), then that would make people (even loyal iPhone users) to switch to perhaps an Android or another smartphone which has this feature that will provide a more flexible usability, rather than obtaining the iPhone 5.
