First day of the first first annual g|Philippines is finally done! It was a great experience seeing Googlers around the world travel to the Philippines to share more about Google.
Recap: Agenda for Day 1

There was so much to learn in that event, for me probably it was more on Youtube and Analytics. I never thought that Philippines is one of the top viewers and uploaders of Youtube videos. No wonder more and more Filipino talents are being discovered through Youtube.
If you are Google Analytic’s fan, then you’ve probably seen the new design and features Google has rolled out. One interesting feature that caught my attention is the real time analytics, You could actually see in real time the activities going on, it’s like Twitter’s trending for search.
As the Googlers always stressed out, Google is always about speed. It’s about sharing information and giving the users the best experience they can have.
Key principles for Google Innovation:
- Have a clear mission
- Foster entrepreneurs
- Be open share everything
- It’s all about data
- Focus on what’s best for user, money will follow
- Speed matters
Here are some interesting things that I didn’t know about Google Products:
- They actually have this online museum with really high resolution images, and Ayala Museum is actually there! http://www.googleartproject.com
- You don’t actually need to rename all your photos in gDrive, it could actually search for the photo not by the name, but the image itself, same technology used in Google Goggles.
- Streetview with built-in compass
