I have been looking into Foursquare since early last year and a lot has been changed. I always though that claiming venues and getting the Foursquare sticker was fun. Of course, the campaigns you can create was limited to what Foursquare would offer.
Apparently Smart invested a big amount for having it’s own Foursquare badge, it is also the first time to have a Philippine Foursquare badge. What a way to introduce this concept through Lady Gaga’s(details here) concert happening first at SM Arena.
To give you an idea of how much investment Smart made, Foursquare charges $25,000 a month for having your own badge with a minimum of 3 months commitment, that makes it at least $75,000 investment (roughly Php 3.2 million).
This is definitely a breakthrough for Foursquare in the Philippines, Users have been using Foursquare to share their location through check-ins but establishments are not really maximizing these customers checking in. Maybe it’s time we see more Foursquare promos and probably more Foursquare badges!
