Online retail helps level the playing field between small businessmen and big companies, Lazada Philippines CEO Inanc Balci said. In a recent interview with Inanc Balic, CEO of Lazada Philippines, he discussed on how eCommerce has grown in the Philippines since the enter of Lazada.

When Lazada starated in the Philippines eCommerce penetration was just 0.1%, after 5 years it’s now more than 1% in terms of total retail sales. When you look ecommerce in other countries you see 3%, 5% or higher.  Some of the highest ecommerce penetration like Korea and Taiwan, you get upto 15% penetration, so there is great room to grow in the Philippines.
